The effective use of local exhaust ventilation such as fume cupboards, microbiological safety cabinets and robotic enclosures is a key element in the provision of safe working conditions in laboratories both in work and education. These devices are subject to a range of current and emerging legislation, regulations, and codes of practice, including:
